I've been getting that too. is it a 2003 or 2007 excel spreadsheet and you are using 2010 in compatibility mode? It seems to stop crashing if I save after each sort.pennymakespounds wrote: »recently update to Office 2010

I assume there are compatibility issues with 2010 and older excel spreadsheets as I also keep getting a message saying that I will lose some formatting saving it with 2010 but I think that may just be colours and fonts.
There is a service pack for 2010 but it didn't seem to make any difference for me.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -
no .. it's a newish spreadsheet set up on this pc on the new 2010 .
Never ever had the problem before with previous versions .
All updates etc are up to date .
Have tried resaving the sheet as a differrent one . Same happens . Stuck !0 -
Is it being saved as an .xls or a .xlsx document? the only thing I can think of is that it is being saved in compatibility mode as an .xls document and so is effectively being saved as a 2003 file. So you could try saving it as an xlsx document and see if that helps. Other than that, I have no ideas...sorry.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0
