Nothing wrong with giving a company loyalty if you think they provide a great serviceor an essential one.

If you dont and they go bust you will end up joining all the Woolworths crowd that complained when it went.

Trick is to reward the right companies that do the right thing... and maybe not reward the awful ones even if they are cheaper. There is a happy medium.
I boycott loads of things (Nestle, Halifax, Sky, Top Shop/Top Man, Ryanair, etc) cheapest or not.

I dont hold any as I know full well what they do when they hold your details on any of these loyalty cards, they sell your Data on to anyone and everyone thus giving you even more unwanted junk via phone, post and email.

and they do the same if you pay on debit/credit card

I have earnt £215 so far this year on my nectar card for only buying what i would have normally bought, the iPhone add is many for getting extra double points

and £45 on my shell card, which are always the cheapest anyway

nice i have enough points on my american express card for a £100 amazon voucher :) in 3 months

Clubcard and Boots card as they are primarily the ones I use - I shop there, why not get the occasional free thing

We've always used some of our Tesco points for Blockbuster DVD rental & still think it's a great deal despite increase in price to purchase vouchers. We're still saving £31.00 on every 12 vouchers and think that's great value. We're great movie fans & that's a massive saving. Haven't paid to watch a DVD in over 3 years.

Tesco is the closest shop for groceries & fuel and we always converted the clubcard vouchers into airmiles for a trip to Australia but with the change to Avios and the introduction of the surcharges I think the OZ trip might be off! :(
