here is a good place to do it ! If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate but I've decided life is far too short to be lying awake at night worrying about debt.
I know my H has more debt than me but don;t know exact figure. I don;t think he has a clue that I am £4000 in debt on a credit card :-(
I have gotten rid of all the cards I had and shifted it all to m&s money at 3.9 for the life of the ballance.
Now I just need to have the guts to cut all the other cards in half and try to make do without them.

Debt free HOORAY !:T :A Years from now it won't matter what kind of car we drove, what kind of house we lived in, how much money we had in the bank, nor what our clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, we were important in the lives of our children.

Hi, and welcome! We're all a friendly bunch, so worry not!
First thing to do is to pop up a SOA (see the sticky at the top) and we'll see if we can't cut your bills to get a bit extra to throw at it.
Cut those cards up girl! You don;t need em! Unless of course one is 0% on balance transfers, then shift the balance across and cut the rest up.
I'd also have a chat with hubby, if he's in debt too there's little point doing all this to find out theres another £10k to go! That way you can d it together. This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

You're in the right place to get some help! If you want help with cutting down on your outgoings you need to post a Statement of Affairs (basically all your imcomings and outgoings). There are a few ways to make extra money - selling on Ebay/Amazon is the first thing most people do. Sign up to cashback sites (https://www.quidco.co.uk and https://www.pigsback.co.uk) will generate a few quid. And visiting the Old Style Board will help with cutting back on food.
Good luck!OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090 -

Hi barbie!
I would strongly advise for you and your hubby to tackle all the debts together, otherwise as fast as you're paying it off, he could be building them up on his cards.
Plus if you are pulling your weight and he isn't you may start to resent him for it!
Welcome to the dfw forum babe

Thanks all, I'm amazed at how upbeat and cherful everyone is and thanks for the encouragement.
I'm working on a SOA I'll post soon but just took a huge step forward today and admitted to H how deep I am in debt. He also admitted he's about £5000 in debt.
SO now at least we know where we are. I've cancelled our sky sub and I'm looking at energy suppliers, whats the most profitable way to change from Scottish Hydro electric to N power who comes up saving us arround 10% on electric (we're not on mains gas)
Thanks for all your help so far.

don't forget to change energy suppliers via https://www.quidco.com. You can get cash back by switching via them, if your cheapest provider is listed with them.

Well done for tackling it, talking to hubby and cancelling Sky! I know that last one is often the hard bit!
Keep going - we're all here to help in our own little ways!

Just wanted to say hello and welcome too. Well done on a great start - knowing what you are dealing with is the first big step - even if it is really hard! And you are doing it with your hubby which will make a huge difference. You've made a cracking start by ditching Sky and looking to switch utilities. I am certain the budget wizards on this board will be able to help you with even more savings. And I would second the suggestion to look at the DFW flylady posts (sticky and discussion threads) - just start at Day 1 on the sticky thread and come across to the discussion thread to let us know how you're doing or ask questions.
Good luck - you are on your way! :T0 -

Can't decide, should I go with quidco £14 which is direct link to n power or with http://www.energyhelpline.com £15 cashback + if I refer a friend I get £20 each time? I think I know at least 2 I could refer
Does anyone want to refer me and if you do do I still get my £15?
