Homeserve Appliance Insurance

I have appliance insurance with Homeserve and they have registered my 7 year old Miele dishwasher beyond economical repair. They offer a like for like replacement. Are they required to replace the Miele with another Miele?
The first Homeserve call centre agent didnt know (!!) and the second one said it just needs to be the closest like for like but dishwashers are dishwashers. What is to stop them replacing with say a Hotpoint. It has the same programmes etc?? I was hoping to get a Bosch or a Siemens with a cutlery drawer, dont mind paying extra but I really dont want the cheapest dishwasher on the market as a replacement. BTW - it is fully intergrated

i have appliance care through homeserve, but its s riginally taken with repair care.
i didnt realise it was replacement.
i know domestic and general will replace appliances but your must put the appliance on cover when its under manufacturers guarantee!Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
Like for like normally means a model of equal specification. If you have a top of the range dishwasher and it dies they won't replace with with a bargain basement model because it's a 'dishwasher'.0

Didn't miele come with a manufacturers 10 yr warranty as standard when bought 7 yrs ago ??
I know they don't now as per

I had this happen to me. They wont get you a Hotpoint, however they wont replace a Miele with a Miele. The cost of the insurance doesnt allow it. However when mine went wrong they did give me a fair allowance and I was allowed to upgrade it to a Bosch (with a cutlery drawer)0
