If you need help and you have not progressed after being given advice here, then perhaps you can give someone whom you trust Remote Access. I can do this for you, but am a bit busy now. If you are happy to wait I can take a look.

Meanwhile describe exactly which attachments. Give examples.
  • What attachments are they?

What is the file extension (the three letters after the dot in the file name)?

OP - you have 2 threads running

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3140090

And you seem to be dealing with 2 types of attachements ?

Did you sort out the .pdf ones ?

As mentioned - people need to know exactly the type of attachments you are trying to open ( i.e. their extensions - .pdf .doc .rtf etc...)

I think that the problem was that she did not go back to her original thread. The solution given was to install Office software, but as she did not return to the thread, she did not see it. She has seen it now.

Don't be silly. Remote Access costs nothing.
Perhaps you should actually contribute something, rather than simply trolling the thread.

it is still touting for business as the remote access is free, but then you could say i need to do this so it will cost you this. also i would not give remote access to someone i dont know that is off a public forum

normally when an attachment wont open its because you dont have a program attached to that extension

Is there something wrong with you? Unless you want your post reported, you should perhaps wind your neck in.
It is perhaps one thing to ASK if I intend to charge, but quite another to accuse someone without the slightest bit of evidence. So how about you just shut up and learn some manners?

Any help here is offered freely and I have already highlighted the solution...before you even posted. So what exactly are you doing here if not trolling?

OK, talk us throw HOW you download a PDF, and HOW you try to 'Open' it.

Step by step. What do you do?

Before you do that, can you tell us - if you look at the Folder where your downloads are, can you tell what type of file they are? Can you see the file extension .PDF or .DOC, or can you see a column which describes them as 'Adobe Document' or 'Microsoft Word Document' ?
