Clamping Castle Car Park Windsor

I parked at Castle CP Windsor on 19th September, paid £6.20 in machine for 3 hours and pressed reject coin button to ensure money received. Returned within period to find car clamped and on inspecting ticket noticed it had registered £6 only and 2 hours parking. Forced to pay £120 release fee and clamper admitted machine made mistakes very rarely. Complained to PCM - clamping company- and they state they check machines regularly and 'on balance of probabilities' their action was correct. Has anyone had similar experience or successfully claimed against PCM?

Yes, people have claimed against clampers but very rarely get their money back from the clamper because the clamping companies just ignore the CCJ's and they have no assets anyway. When a joint claim is made against the freeholder and the clamper than you are more likley to get your money back.
So, first question - Are you thinking about taking them to County Court?
If you are then this forum is where to get the advice you would need - http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=60
Next, you paid £6 and not £6.20 (according to the ticket issued), with £6.20 being for three hours but £6 only got you two hours.... so what was the next charge point down and how much was it? So, if it was 2 hours how much was two hours? If it was under £5 then why would you have put £6 pound in in the first place when it is just 20p short of three hours.... of course, PCM don't care about this and you have no discovered you have no right of appeal... this is just a point if you do sue them!0 -
If you do decide to fight, then the posters on PePiPoo would need all the information you have - pictures of all he signs. their locations, the paperwork the clamper gave you etc, etc.0

I wonder if he has rigged the ticket machine like the other one did. Maybe a letter to trading standards might just give them the lever they need. (I am thinking about the right car park aren't I?)I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

The car park is by the river opposite Browns - and I now realise has a white van with clampers on permanent standby in one of the bays0

No surprise their then... just another day in PPC and clamping land.
I did make a slight error in my post about a potential claim above, it would be the company that hired the clamper that you would go after jointly with the clamper. This might be the freeholder, but can more often be the Management Company who looks after the land for the freeholder.
If you fancy fighting it, get this posted on PePiPoo and lets see what people advise!0
