Received my fine in the post, was quite shocked £80 or £50 if paid by the 12th october in cambridge beehive centre on 24th sept, yes i did exceed the 3 hrs. so does that mean i have to pay? they have a photo of my car entering and leaving? bit worrying.

If care to read other threads on here you will discover that it's not a "fine", it's an invoice. And no, you don't have to pay. All you technically owe them is a couple of quid for exceeding that time limit, not the stupid amount they are claiming.

Ignore the clown, and do NOT communicate with them, or they will be like a tick on a dogs ear,

So, you parked in a FREE car park and happened to overstay their arbitrary time limit. So they invited you on to 'their' land to park for FREE and now want you to pay them £50 for overstaying in their FREE car park!

BTW - I know this is a FREE forum but my time isn't free and I am currently charging you £25 per 15 minutes for my advice... so if you could let me know where to send my invoice I would be very grateful?

What do you mean you are not going to pay me anything????

What do you think you should do? ;)

The advice is always ignore and actually Parking Spy are one of the least 'demanding' of the PPC's and will stop bothering you after three 'threat-o-grams' or so and leave you alone.

Please read the stickie threads above and watch the BBC Watchdog clip.

JUST IGNORE, print off the Parking Spy 'invoices' on the tread above and play PPC bingo as and when your matching paper work arrives in the post... and then get on with your life!
  • I so wish I had checked here earlier. Received a "fine" and was so shocked and worried, like a numpty, paid. Only after telling my other half, he told me off, I stared searching, not quite believing what he told me and of course found out all this.

Now feel really stupid, but have learnt a valuable lesson, think before paying anything.

I suppose its people like me that keep them going. I am an eternal worrier and letters like this really worry me. I feel really mad that they are allowed to send these things out and basically LIE, being a really honest person I thought this type of thing had been stopped. :(

I will be informing all my friends and family of this, hopefully stopping the same happening to them.

You are correct. There is plenty of evidence around which shows that at least 60% of people who receive these notices pay up without question.

Its a pity you paid, unfortunately you are not alone in falling for their trick. Hence the reason they dress their notices up like official PCN;s

At least now you know and you can spread the word.

Be careful even after paying these companies have been known to come back for more.
