Storage Heaters! Help!
Options
Hi,
I'm still having problems figuring out why our Electricity bill is so high. We live in a 2 bedroom Bungalow which is very small. 5 doors down we have family members in a much bigger house also with storage heaters who are at home most days and thier bill is about £150 per quater.
We only have 2 storage heaters on and there is no-one in the house most days yet our bill with BG is over £300 per quater.
Does anyone know roughly how many units per night 2 storage heaters should use?

That is very high.
Check your E7 timer to make sure you are getting the cheap electric at the right time.
Are you using any sort of 'boost' setting? That will bump up your bill.
The only way to check totally is to turn everything else off and see when the meter starts using more electric.

Also check on your bill you are on an E7 tariff and not the standard one, you should have got it automatically but it doesn't harm to make sure.0

Depends on their size and how high the "input heat" setting is set for.
The smallest ones (around 22" wide) are usually 1.7 Kw and would consume a maximum of around 12 units per night each.
The biggest ones (around 40" wide) are usually 3.4 Kw and would consume a maximum of around 24 units per night each.
Figures will be less if the "input heat" setting is less than the maximum.0
