Window IE freezes

Hi,
I have a PC that is about 4 years old and recently when I use Windows IE the page will freeze and stop responding. Sometmes I need to restart the PC just to get it to start to work again
I have Zonelarm as the only antivirus and have done most things in the "how to speed up a slow PC " thread, Malwarebytes, start up lite and restored IE to default settings etc but it does seem to have any results. I have 4 gb of Ram, maximun for machine so I can't see why...:mad: I have also tried a system restore to a date in July but they always fail. The performance of the CPU usage mormally goes to 100%when this happens but all the other indicators are well within the limits even when it freezes IE

You have some unnecessary toolbars & bho's. Try IE in no add-ons mode.

How would I dsable the toolbars, I can see they are printers and what is a BHO I can see I have some , how would I turn them off or remove them?

Will try with no add-ons, at the Micosoft site it offerred a "fix it" program that run then stated I wasn't an Administrater so it wouldn't finish or check for problems. I checked and I am ??? What's going on

can't guarantee it will fix your problem, but the machine should run much better as a result and it will cost nothing

BHO's (Browser Helper Objects) are just little programs that run in the browser giving extra functionality.

One of which is Roxio's DriveLetterAccess (DLA).

That might be the cause of your problems.

The second links explains it better for me, not too PC literate.

Most of the bits are disabled when I checked.

Yesterday when I had to restart the PC it went through a checking phase , said disk is dirty, did some repairs (???) and seems to be working okay. It did get stuck and freeze on YouTube, just watched a video and it appears to be okay !
