I am going through the affairs of a elderly relative who recently passed away and found a reference in her bank statements to NWI Home Insurance.
Has anyone heard of them? Point me in the direction to contact them.
Google search has not helped really.
Thanks in advance.

Nationwide or Natwest ?
Speak to the bank and they will look on the Direct Debit list for more details. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Thanks for above I suppose Nationwide or Natwest sound good contenders, cannot speak to the bank yet as we are working thro the legal bits, no will so need the court to authorise us to gain access to the accounts.0

When the bank receives the death cert, they will freeze the account and all those that have DD's or SO's will receive notification that the payer is deceased. This should happen automatically. So once this has happened, the companies should stop putting payments through and send a letter to the deceaseds address, just asking for instructions in due course. Each company will have their own processes for this, with a letter explaining this. I would expect them to have a payer deceased letter, which they send, to show understanding for the situation.
So it might be best to wait for letters to hit the doormat, rather than chase around like a headless chicken. The comments I post are personal opinion.
