Working and DLA

Hi there.
My younger son gets DLA on the lower rate for mobility and the medium rate for care. I get carer's allowance, child benefit and child tax credits. (I am single).
What I would like to know is: am I right in thinking I am allowed to earn up to £100 per week before some of the benefits are cut?
In the JobCentre I was told working 16+ hours would entitle me to working tax credit but for the next couple of months I would rather work fewer hours and not worry about the working tax credit.
Thank you.

yes you can earn up to 100 pounds without loosing c/a but it will affect any other income related benefit depending on total household income0

Also, DLA isn't affected by income.0

Speaking only of the carers allowance.
I'm not sure if the child benefit would count as income towards it - I think the tax credits do.
It's 100 pounds - but this is after a long list of things (that may not apply to you) are taken into account.
NI, income tax, half of what you pay towards a personal or occupational pension, expenses you have no choice about paying in the course of your job, and up to half of the amount of care costs that you pay due to your job in respect to the person you're caring for. (can't be costs incurred to relatives)

Since when. Have you got any proof to back the holiday up? I've been on carer's allowance for 12 years and never knew that.0

Never heard of that rule, I think you may be confusing this with ...
If the person you look after goes into a care home temporarily or for a short break in a care home and their DLA or AA has not stopped, you'll continue to receive Carer’s Allowance for up to four weeks in any 26-week period. During these four weeks you don't have to provide any care. After these four weeks, you'll have to show that you're still providing 35 hours of care each week in order for your Carer’s Allowance to continue.0
