V5 and selling car

I have sold my car last month and I did not have the V5 (was lost in the house somewhere).
I have just got a letter from the DVLA saying that someone wants to register the car in their name and if I do nothing, they will do that in two weeks.
Then on the back it says that if I have lost the V5 to contact them. Should I just let them transfer the owner in two weeks or should I request a new v5 and then fill in all the details...
Cheers
