Hi everyone,
I was wondering if all you nice people could give me some advice please.
I have my practical test in a few weeks, so have started looking for a nice ideal first car, but have no idea what to look for in a reliable car -
Am I best going for a garage or private selling?
What is good milage?
What car is ideal for 2 adults and 2 children?
3 door or 5 door?
Sorry to be a pain
Thank you in advance

The only advice I can give is make sure it's a 5 door. There is nothing worse than having to put kids in and out of the front, in the rain, having to lean in and check their seatbelts (or strap them in if they are too young to do it themselves), and, if they still need a carseat (especially the large 9months - 4 years seats) they are a nightmare to try to fit through the gap - putting my sons car seat into my sisters 3 door car required muscles, flexibility, and could have been used in the Krypton Factor!
My first car was a Renault Scenic (an old one) which was brilliant, and I still miss it now, I am now running about in a Kia Rio, fab, reliable, cheap, but not much leg room in the back.
Depending on the age of your kids, look out for silly things like power points in the back, storage for toys, games, books, etc that the kids can reach, Isofix is a bonus if they are still really small.
Hope that helps - not much help on the type of car front lol, but little bits that I have discovered over the past few years driving about with kids!0
