Shall We Make Wills?

Hi there. We are a married couple with two children. Is it really worth paying out for wills when the other spouse will get whatever the other has?
Also, does marriage cancel out previous wills made before getting married?

Before my husband went into the army and before we got married he made a will leaving what he had to his brother, does he need to get this revoked or is it revoked automatically on marriage? And yes the lady in the avatar is me

If a married person dies intestate (not having made a will), then the wife would automatically be the beneficiary under the rules of intestacy.
However, your husband already has a will and I suspect it would prevail. He needs to get it changed.0 -
If your husband were to die intestate (not having made a will) then you would be the main beneficiary. If the estate exceeds a certain amount a formula is applied to see how much other relatives receive.
In this case he has a will so intestacy laws do not apply. The estate would go to the brother. He needs to get the will changed.0
