auto transmission malfunction, where to go from here
we have a ford focus c max auto diesel which we bought from a dealer approx 3 months ago
two weeks after we bought it we started to have problems. when we was putting it into park the large P would not come up on the dash display so the key wouldnt come out, we took it back to the dealer and he said he took it back to fords and they said it was a knack so we took it back and the problem persisted so we took it to an auto transmission mechanic who stripped it down and cleaned it all and there was no obvious problem but the switch could be going. so for the mean time every time it would nt go into park we just clicked the switch on the gear box and it eventually was going into park.
the other day we have had transmission malfunction come up so back it goes to the dealer , when you turn the engine off and restart that seems to clear the problem so by the time the dealer got it no problem so again he says he cant find anything wrong with it, today this has happened twice.
where do we go from here , the dealer says nothing is wrong but obviously there is , its just no one seems to know what the problem is and fords want £200 just to look at it

If this is a 1.6 TDCi with a CVT gearbox it is a nightmare to live with. Do everything you can to get your money back, it will never be right due to fundamental design issue.0

Independant inspection from a gearbox specialist at your own expense. Then depending on their
verdict you have either paid for them to tell you your doing it wrong or there is nothing wrong
or there is a fault.
If there is a fault you provide the selling garage with a COPY of your report and explain you want it fixed.
You dont say how old the car is or how many miles its covered. Service history? Not just stamps in the book
but real receipts for parts and work thats been done.
Stamps in a book are useless.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
