Problems setting up a Yahoo Disposable Email Address?

Can anyone please help me with this as it's really bugging me!

I have a a yahoo email address and thought it would be handy to set up a disposable one for when I sign up for discount vouchers etc.

So I go into options, disposable email addresses, then click add address and I choose a base name click next.

But.....it will never let me get past step 1 to actually set one up I have chosen a name of my own they say it's not available so I just choose one of the suggested names to test it anyway but even then it never goes to step 2? Tried it lots of times same thing again!

Any ideas?

Just tried it and am getting the same issue. Tried in both Chrome and Firefox so I don't think it's a browser issue. Yahoo Mail has been buggy since the new interface was introduced, probably a problem on their end.

Same here, though if you click mail options, accounts, create extra e-mail address you can use that if you like

Ignore the suggestions on the right if they are too close to the existing one and keep entering them in the box on the left until you get a suitable one

" Now you can have a second Yahoo! email address to use just like your first. And since we're now allowing the dot "." in email addresses, you can get more creative with your address. Go ahead, create one and use it to send email, sign in, whatever. It's yours. You can also use one of your existing profiles for an extra address. However, you can only have one extra address.

Please note: When you create an extra mail address, it appears in the list of Yahoo! Mail accounts shown on this page. To help prevent spamming, an extra address can only be changed twice in one year. "

I logged into both the US & UK Yahoo! platforms to try, but it's only the UK-based login offering this option.

But you're right, it's not you,
it is faulty and i am using Opera, still with the old 'Classic' style Yahoo interface, i refuse to 'upgrade', lol

But i treat all Yahoo/Hotmail/Gmail as disposables, just creating new ones as required.

Thanks for your replies everyone! :D

Must be something wrong on Yahoo's end then, I have already got a second email on the same account but thought it would be handy to have a couple of the disposable ones that would go into the same inbox.

Will see if there is anywhere to contact Yahoo about problems?

    One option here

    http://help.yahoo.com//l/uk/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/

Though when they reply, don't bother to reply to that as they seem to ignore those, or they do with me, so I just copy the relevant details in to a new email
  • Am sure if you google 24hour email address theres loads of these sorts of accounts out there... worth a try :)

Lot of hassle, just do anythingyouwanthere@mailinator.com - other domains possible, no need to set anything up in advance. See www.mailinator.com for more info

I've been using yahoo disposable email addresses for some time without any problem, but when I tried recently to set up a base name on another yahoo account, like the OP I couldn't get past the first screen. Using yahoo classic as I don't like the "new improved" version. I suspect this might be another yahoo ploy to get us all to upgrade.
