Hope you manage to find some, I will check our pet shop in town tomorrow. My 16 yr cat only likes Whiskas Supermeat and that is getting harder to find and they only have 3 flavours in it, the gravy and jelly varieties make her sick.0

Many thanks for being so kind and supportive. My cat had such a good day today. I can't bear the thought of him going downhill because of that multinational corp's new porcine policy.
The food is vet only (other than online distributors) so don't think you can find it at pet shops but thanks to everyone.
I emailed vetuk but have had no reply as yet. I'll keep trying.
In the meantime, he's been given some food he likes but is only meant to stay on for 6 months (I insist on being optimistic about him) which is Specific vetXX (danish...fishy...XX???!!) kidney diet. He will eat it, but it looks like it may lack all the nutrients he needs.
Does anyone have any experience of this food with their own cat? They don't show up on a google search and are vet only. I don't mind if they are a small company; I must make sure though that he has the right stuff.
The alternative is apparently cooking him meals at home myself. omg poor cat !0 -
Sorry nothing in my local pet shop they said that only vets stock Hills and to try there. They seemed really sorry that they couldnt help when I explained the problem.
Will keep an eye out for pet shops when I am on my travels.
Good luck.
Have now read your previous post so will add vets to my list.0 -
Have you had any luck pigeonpie? I have an appointment at the vets on Tuesday so will have a look at the cans they have. They have quite a lot of Hills food stockpiled and it's not that big a surgery so hope they will have some.0

There aren't as many cats with liver disease as kidney disease, but if you could ask your vet if they have some old stock or if they would be prepared to try to get some old cans for me (my vet has been sent all the old 'E' stock that the co want to give I think ie 1 tray) would be v grateful. My cat had cholangiohepatitis in October and so is a liver patient for what remains of his life. He's done well on it (and pills). I will have to move him to kidney prescription food if I can't get some more trays of old L/D (I am convinced Hills must have some; what will they do with them?!). There seems to be no other canned liver food.
Many thanks for any help. I can pay any vet online and for delivery to London. Please pm me if anyone has any luck. Fingers, paws crossed.0
