Hi,
Our meter was changed two weeks ago. Yesterday I spoke to our supplier and they still have the old meter on their records. Does anyone know how long it should take for the new meter number and reading to be loaded onto the supplier's system?
Many thanks

its all dependant on flows from the meter asset managers, normaly can take about 1 month on average to fully update.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

The Meter Operator has 10 working days (2 weeks) to send details of the meter exchange to your supplier and they are auditted on this.

My meter was changed in 2009 and the man who did it said that the information often doesn't get through to your supplier, so keep a record of old and new meter readings (which were on a tag attached to the new meter anyway) and watch my bills. I worked out if I were to be billed for the difference between the two meters as if I had used it, the cost would be around £5000. My next bill was using an estimated reading, but on the old meter. When my meters were finally read, I got a letter from E.On saying I would be getting a larger than normal bill if I didn't contact them. I did contact them and was put through to a very helpful lady who even gave me her direct number. She took all the details and said it would be sorted, but could take about 8 weeks. It took a little over 8 weeks and a couple of follow-up phone calls, but I never got a silly bill, just an adjustment to reflect the new meter.
Wasn't my fault, but credit due to E.On, who sorted it all out with very little trouble to me.

Weird that you give credit to Eon when they were the ones who messed up in the first place.

I once had a mess up with a meter change but it was in my favour and the bill put me in credit by £500!
