Washing machine in basement

Options
Hi folks,

My wife and I have designed our (Ikea) kitchen without space for the washing machine, which is to go in the basement.

We have bought a washing machine, built a 2ft high podium for it and plumbed it in fine but the pump is not strong enough to take the waste water away.

The pipe travels through the floor to the kitchen sink and has about a metre to travel. The final path is vertical and then a 180 degree about turn in to the sink.

Has anyone any idea of how to solve this dilemma? Auxiliary pump or something like that?

The machine is an LG model at the £250 price point.

So about £400 to install a £250 washing machine

    Crazy.

Tried putting the waste pipe into a 30l bin but that is even not enough.

If you don't want to spend the dosh, it looks like you need to redesign your kitchen.

    Saniflow also make suitable pumps.
