I've just been to energyhelpline to switch from my really expensive supplier... as you do... and I was happy with what they could save me... but I got this message...
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to switch your energy supply to EQUIPOWER & EQUIGAS - Standard, as they do not support our service for this tariff.
Click continue to return to your results page and see other opportunities to save.
So what's the bloody point in going to this site if it can't actually do anything for me?!
Has anyone else come across this? If so, what did/would you do?
Cheers in advance!
Antonia

Er .... you go direct to the website for Equipower etc - and sign up there! If you're happy it's the cheapest for your area. Do another comparison on eg Uswitch to check?
EDIT
Sorry .. should have added. When you go direct to Equipower etc .. make sure you pick up the tariff that the comparison site picked up? As there could be several tariffs - and its easy to get the wrong one.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
They have to have an agreement with the company (and usually a nice fat comission cheque too) to switch though the site. The ones that don't, you have to contact directly.0

I agree Antonia - all the fuss about getting cash back via the different sites and it doesn't work with Ebico. I don't care though - I signed up on their website as I can't wait to leave BG...(not the prices; it's the customer service!).0

Good for you Jeannine. :T
To OP,
Ebico (ie Equipower and Equigas), dont pay the comparison sites for refferal, so the comparison sites will not put in the switching link, some do not even mention them.
Perhaps as well, otherwise BG would have no customers left, and on the quiet, I don't think they(BG) will be bothered. A case for DIY.ac's lovechild0 -
Thanks dc!!0

It's the same with uswitch for certain suppliers and tariffs. You sometimes have to go direct to the supplier website. British Gas Click was one of them, don't know if it still is.Indecision is the key to flexibility0
