Santander and Halifax standing orders

I've recently opened a Preferred Current account with Santander (for Santander's and TCB's cashback & 5% interest), and will be opening another to benefit from the 5% (and hopefully Quidco cashback). I have a so set up for the 5th from Santander to my Halifax account, so that I can then transfer it back to Santander to satisfy the £1k funding each month. I then make a manual transfer from Halifax to Santander, but would prefer to set a so instead to make sure it's done just in case I should forget to do it manually. As my so from Santander to Halifax is on the 5th of the month, should everything be ok to set up a so from Halifax back to Santander also for the 5th? Sorry if this sounds like a daft question (just a bit paranoid about whether Santander ever decide to not send a so out on the 5th, and I'd then be stuck with charges from Halifax if the £1k wasn't there to transfer back out).

Weekends and Bank Holidays may create problems for you.

Since you want to withdraw the £5 Reward each month, and because it's not paid on the same day each month, you'd be visiting the Halifax site anyway. Why not send the £1K back manually?

I have 4 Halifax Reward accounts and until recently also had 3 maxed out LTSB Vantage accounts. I made all my transfers manually in a matter of minutes.

...Why not send the £1K back manually?...

Yeah, as I say, that's what I do at present, just thought about setting up the so's just in case I forget to transfer it back (hasn't happened yet, but never say never).

Would the weekends and bank holidays you refer to as causing problems be because they send so's at different times?
