Desktop PC help

HI there

I'm currently helping a family member buy a desktop; hopefully someone can point towards some gems :)

They are willing to spend approximately £400, but it must be on 0% finance.

I'm wondering if there are any decent online stores that offer finance? If not, we'll go to the usual high street suspects.

I've got a fairly good understanding of computer hardware etc...

So far the best I've found is an i3/ 4 gig ram/ 1tb hard drive.... I forget the rest of it.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi, the full whack.

    Monitor, Keyboard, Tower et.al.

Also, ideally they'd like a smallish tower. So far I've only found Acers with small towers in that range, but they get mixed reviews on reliability.

    Do people like acer or?

    acer - hit'n'miss...

also bear in mind smaller form-factor desktops become more prone to overheating issues and they often use non-standard size components, so maintenance later may become an issue too..

Better to save up the money first if they can, most finance deals will mean signing a credit agreement with a third party, nothing to do with the shop you buy the goods from, and it will have penalty clauses.
  • I recommend buying a refurbished desktop from this firm:

I have bought two machines from them, and have been very satisfied.
