Hi,
When we say best, we mean one that will do the following (apart from playing/recording VHS & DVDs):
-Be able to connect to our Sky Digibox and Ntl Digtal receiver so that we can record TV onto Hard Disk
-Connect up to my husbands PC as he has all sorts of sports clips he would like to put onto DVD or VHS etc.
WHats out there - and what do we need to be wary of (regardeing different input/outputs etc)
Ive seen a beautifiul Toshiba Model (in black - but its very expensive).

PVR is Personal Video Recorder, basically a hard drive recorder like a Sky+ box, consists of a tuner(s) and hard drive. The name seems to be changing to DVR (Digital), or in NTL's case TV Drive. These devices were supposed to then have a built in DVD recorder, but few have been taken up, problems with software, especially on boxes with Freeview. There are units around to fit your specs but as you have found are very expensive. Panasonic is possibly the better. 45 or 75 models I seem to remember, but £400ish.
You are possibly going to get more answers on the DVD review or Digitalspy websites

The TOshiba I ve seen is about £279. Doesnt seem to be getting any cheaper, so may plump for it.
Just worried about whether we'll be able to connect all the bits in and out - I know lots of these items arent compatible with others.0
