from the spec for your mobo......
SATA on the Go
The motherboard supports the next-generation hard drives based on the Serial ATA (SATA) 3Gb/s storage specification, delivering enhanced scalability and doubling the bus bandwidth for high-speed data retrieval and saves. The external SATA port located at the back I/O provides smart setup and hot-plug functions. Easily backup photos, videos and other entertainment contents on external devices.
The SATA spec of the new drive may not be fully compatable with the MObo for trouble-free operation.

I had a similar problem a while ago with a SATA drive in an old PC
Eventually found the problem, the motherboard would not support the transfer rate the drive was set at.
Drive manufacturers website had a utility to alter the drive settings. I had to put the drive in a computer that recognised it, change the transfer rate to one the mother board suppored. Remove the drive from the computer and put in the old one
Everthing works fine0 -
Maybe a bios update might add the support if not your mobo may not be fully compatable0
