DS1 has just started learning. He found his instructor by word of mouth from a friend who is also learning now. His instructor seems very good. She charges £44 for a two hour lesson. It's a 20-25 minute drive to the nearest test centre (Salisbury) so single hours would be pointless. He did three lessons 'locally' and then went to Salisbury from the fourth lesson. He has had six lessons so far and appears to be getting on well. I would agree with the comments about not block booking. Some of DS's friends block booked with other instructors and were still just steering after three or four lessons.
