Why would my thanks button not be working but everyone elses is?
I click thanks and it just makes the thanks button disappear. How can I fix it, have tried logging in and out.

Hi,
that's the way it works, when you thank a post, the button disappears, and the thanks shows below the post.
See above.0 -
Yes, I know but it doesnt appear. I have thanked your post but it is like I haven't and doesnt show as a thanks.“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we took so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened up for us”

The man is right, try pressing the thanks button at the bottom of this post and watch it happen0 -
This happens to me sometimes too, especially if I try to thank several people in succession - if you press it again it should work.0

Nope, still not working. Thanked both your posts and it is still not registering. It just vanishes. I am also unable to edit the posts I have made.
Obviously just me though as no one else seems to be having a problem. Have I abused the thanking in some way?“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we took so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened up for us”

Thanks so much for your response MSE Joe.
I have javascript enabled and the connection is pretty fast so not sure what is causing the problems.
It is most frustrating not being able to edit posts and thank people, possibly more to do with something on my computer though as have been unable to access emails/paypal too and been having a few glitches. Just got to work out what. (not easy when I am a complete computer illiterate though).“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we took so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened up for us”

Can confirm thishas been happening with me on and off for a week an a half plus I get a dropped connection to MSE every now and then but all other websites are working correctly (while this is happening here).
To fix it I need to shut my i.e browser and reopen it and visit afresh - everything then works till the next time.
In case its relevant I still view the old style forum view.

Thanks Raven, I have tried that, been on and off a few times and still not fixed.
I suspect there is something I have either enabled or disabled by accident but I havent got a clue what.“When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we took so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened up for us”

You could try deleting your cookies, I don't know why but that usually seems to solve most 'strange' little computer problems.0
