Making powerpoint presentation without powerpoint

My current computer came with MS Office 2010 starter which has Word and Excel only. I have installed powerpoint viewer to view .ppt files.

I have an old CD with Office 2007 but it doesn't let you install just powerpoint it installs everything, also worried about it conflicting with office 2010

Open office etc. also seem to want you to download all the programs. I was hoping to use some open source program and then just check it looks ok in powerpoint viewer. I assume that they will display it on it there. any advice?

Did you see custom install as an option?

The can create a presentation with Google Docs, then export it as a powerpoint file to test in your viewer

Every Office installation I've ever done has the ability to choose the options/programs to be installed..... you have to choose a custom setup option and then tick/untick what's to be installed.

I suspect the customize option is there but when installing you just click 'ok' a few times without reading carefully each option presented.

    Take a look at this

Open Office may install everything [but I would think you could tailor the installation]. But it won't conflict with MS Office in the way that you fear between MSOffice 2007 and 2010
