Best printer to buy?

I currently own a hp desk jet 5650, a great printer but the cartridges are way too pricey and refill cartridges are of too poor quality, even printing on highest quality setting is poor and wastes ink.
So I'm looking to buy a new printer but don't know what to go for.
Argos have an epsom stylus s22 for under 20 quid nut I dunno what its like.
I need one that will give good quality colour prints when required, be able to print text quickly and cheaply and not have cartridges that cost the earth.
Any suggestions from anyone?

I would advise checking printer reviews (many sites can be found by googling). You need to look at overall cost of not just buying the printer but running it.
Some review sites will give you the cost per page for various types of printing. Check the cost of replacement cartridges or refills, do you need to use branded of can they be refilled by third party. In general most cheap printers make their profit by having expensive refills.
Check the reviews for print quality for printing photos, also can the printer use various media such as glossy paper etc. There are so many things to be considered it is not an easy decision.0 -
S22 would do the job, it's a standard 'no frills' printer and takes the T1281 - T1285 cartridges which if your printer allows you can get the cheaper compatible versions aswell.
