Tesco Green CC points

'Green' clubcard points on bag re-use in Tesco in Scotland, England & Ireland but not in Wales since the 5p bag [STRIKE]fine[/STRIKE] charge was introduced.
Tesco website FAQs:
Will you still be giving Green Clubcard points?
Yes – except in Wales where the bag levy in now in place - these are an important means of encouraging customers to reduce their use of carrier bags.
Can't see the logic in removing the points - feels like a double whammy.

I've been in email correspondence with them about this and they reckon that its because if you re-use your bag in wales then you are benefiting twice - once by not having to pay the charge and secondly by getting the green cc.
Allegedly you will still be able to get green cc points by recycling tin cans for example.
Personally I think this is racial discrimination.2014 Target;

I have also e-mailed them, asking why not stop the scheme across the UK rather than deny us the reward others get. I saw no publicity about this at all, not even in store!
Shame there is not a can recycling facility near me, of the six that are in Wales the nearest is 40-odd miles away in Barry.
Sainsbury's are still giving a nectar point for each re-used bagI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
