Parking ticket wording????

Hi
I got a parking ticket for being parked OFF road, on a very very wide section of pavement, and causing no obstruction.
The ticket states:
01. Parking in a restricted street during prescribed hours.
So is the ticket valid and might I stand a chance to appeal it? OK I can appreciate you 'may' get a ticket for pavement parking depending on policy, but I didnt do what the ticket states, thats my point!!
Anyone had similar and won any appeal's?
Cheers for now!

Whilst you may have been parked "off the road" on the pavement for the purposes of the the ticket (I'm assuming that this is a DPE ticket issued by a council) a road includes pavements and verges either side of it (in simple terms) and the ticket will be seen as having been legitimately issued.
That being said as the frequency of procedural and wording faults on DPE tickets is so common I would always recommend appealing it. Going onto pepipoo.com with the specifics of your case (be prepared to post up scanned in images of the ticket to assist the experts there) is a good move.
If, however, your ticket originates from a private company and is not in anyway linked with a local authority (or the police) then simply ignore it and get on with your life. Council DPE tickets will always make reference to the Traffic Management Act 2004.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
wow thats a very quick response and thankyou! Yep Im on pepipoo next so thanks for the link
It was/is a council ticket, I've pasted a link/image below, you will see the street is deserted, and the pavement I parked on, is usually parked on by the residents!
Cheers again
edit, I cant post images as Im new, sorry!0 -
Its easy, host on tinypic, take the url for forums etc and post on here and remove the http:// bit, our browsesr do the rest.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
