Had my beutiful luggage lost by Virgin and am not sure how to proceed
They keep telling me they are looking for it but without any progress.
How much can I claim and do they normally pay up>?

Did you take out travel insurance? If so, claim on that.
Virgin only allow you to claim after 21 days. Details of how to claim / whats covered are here
