Modestyb good news about the pups, its amazing what a bit of TLC does. We got our youngest cat from a similar situation and when we got him he was in a heartbreaking way. Wouldn't even make any noise or come for food/water due to nerves. With a lot of love and understanding he is a wonderful young cat now but still very timid and i guess he always will be.

Our cat was about 18mth when we took her in as a stray, really timid, had been taken from mum too early and had a pretty rough start. Finally a year ago she started sitting on our laps (and now is pretty persistant when she wants a cuddle)...she's 8yrs next easter, so it took her 6yrs+ to get to that stage, never underestimate cats :DModestyb, glad to hear your two new additions are settling in well, sounds like they have a wonderful forever home x

Well, not a NSD for me today (again :() however, mattress topper is washed and in the airing cupboard (£6 for a wash and dry at the laundrette...did I mention how much I love my cat at times ) , sleepers for the garden have been collected and just need to be installed in their relevant places (which might not be for a couple of weeks due to other things but at least we have them), lightbulbs (another thing on my list) have been purchased and a mini shop in Mr A done. Enjoyed having a few days off work but could do with another few now :rotfl:

I did get a few more bits for the food box (must deliver that this week) with a wombled APG voucher today, just some tinned fruit, rice pudding and some instant hot oat porrige that was on offer, plus I had another coupon for. Thought that at least that would at least ensure someone (prob a child) could have something hot and relatively healthy to start the day with. So kinda put things into perspective for me today - and a good ole slap round the chops for being a mardy bum yesterday. :o

Made a really yummy (blowing my own trumpet) blackberry and apple crumble tonight (using my 8p casserole dish :D). Used 75g of caster sugar and 25g of molasses (norm just 100g of caster) and it's given it a really lovely crunch and flavour. Even I'm impressed ....move over Gordon :rotfl:

Big hugs to all, Jinty, I forgot to say well done on the weight loss in my mardy state yesterday :T

Oh, and windscreen washers on the car have stopped working....so call to the garage tomorrow  It never rains eh?!

I'm a serial changer of hair colour :) And I like dramatic changes so it's normally brown to blond to red to blond to brown etc...I normally change it at least once a year :o

Me too LMH, I've never been blonde - have had blonde highlights though - but most other colours, including purple:D

Hope you're pleased with the change tomorrow x

Morning all - yes, I know it's the blummin middle of the night!
Wasnt feeling too great yesterday so took day off and slept most of the day - hence now I'm wide awake and have been since 2am!
I have the gastro clinic today thankfully, so I will be able to discuss things with the doc today. I have a feeling that the balance of the meds I am on for my skin is not quite right. I am worried my (newish) supervisor thinks I am swinging the lead, so I am going to have a chat with her today and put her in the picture as to what having Crohn's can entail. I always feel really guilty about being off work!

On the plus side, I can report 2 more NSD's so I'm up to 9! Should have another two this week hopefully!

Kerri - I hope you're feeling more like yourself - I think sometimes the change in the seasons affect us more than we realise!
ModestyB - well done for rescuing the pups, they sound great!

    Have a lovely day everyone!:)
