They've given us dates to attend a preparation course in December. we learn and they evaluate us. :eek: We're pretty nervous :eek:

Had a great shop at S's for a change. £55 down to £22 and then a brand match coupon for £4.25. Best bit was SA was really pleased with my result, never happens in T's. Also get £5+ off petrol for OH's car at T's.

My back is on the mend & may be able to have no dressing from Monday:j. DH got his Appt for Hosp in Oxford to get his CPAP fitted for 16th DEC can't believe got to wait another month to put up with his snoring:eek: It was suppossed to take 6 weeks by the time appt here will have been 12 but we got appt now:j He could ware a mouth guard which helps but he refussing as says hurts his gum so sometimes I have had enough and banned him to sleep in the living room:mad: DS has now finally got some tuition in place well 6 hrs a week started last week:j Now got to focus on the tribunal date 7/2 but have to have all our evidence gathered first week Jan. So things going in the right direction even if slowly. Our best outcome is for the LA to agree with us and we won't have to go to tribunal but in our hearts we know that isn't going to happen

Sounds like its all coming together - fingers crossed for tribunal. Yours health is most important - so pleased that's on the mend :T

That'd be lovely - but most children are about 3. It takes a while to confirm kids can be adopted - they just need to make absolutely sure the birth parents are not able. So a baby is like 'hen's teeth' or 'chicken's lips'! Very few are offered up for adoption, apparently 99% are taken from birth families nowadays. We just want a match which works for everyone.

Cheers Wendy. We know a few other foster carers that look after babies who need adopting. Some seem to be adopted fairly quickly (under 1 year) and others go on for way too long. It makes it difficult for the foster carers as they get attached and some of them end up going for adoption themselves even if it's not what they intended to do to start with.
The Children's Act is flawed in that it gives too much power to the parent's who screwed the kids up in the first place and there isn't a cat in hell's chance of the kids going back to them.
