anyone got any ideas??? my nails have been really dry and brittle over the last couple of weeks, i'm wondering if it's where i spent a few weeks religiously painting them before i went of that boil and now the painted areas are reaching the end. any ways to make them stronger?
  • Well done Red!

I've been to Lush to stock up on Christmas things:o Used my last 10% voucher, and they've stopped doing them so I won't have an excuse to buy in bulk any more. Probably just as well!

Well done on your win, Trudi and Red!
I've just ordered myself a £25 Amazon gift voucher by redeeming points with My Surveys, will have to think what to spend it on. Not toiletries, I promise. I got myself a really lovely watch from them in March, but in true PRCP style I've worn it everyday.
My friend who is moving gave me an unloved Dove body lotion - just about unused - today. She likes to wear perfume and found the fragrance competed with her more expensive smellies. So yet another Non Bought In. I also agreed to trial some shower gel...

Forgot to add, and might as well put it separately, I had an Avon catalogue come for the first time in years. I might treat myself to a lipstick, as it's the only make up I wear. (My skin looks better without foundation and my eyes are too deep-set for eye-shadow or mascara.)

I'm glad you got your house Lady M.

Sawan, I'm thinking that you should go to your friend's 30th. He obviously wants you to attend, which suggests that he'll be looking after you and his other guests. Also, it's true that you sometimes have to force yourself to go to things even if you don't really want to go. You usually end up having a better time than you expected. I don't know your personal circumstances but your post suggests that you're getting over a relationship break up. Well, the best way of doing that is to get out there looking gorgeous and meeting new people. A wise person said that living well and being happy is the best revenge.

    Anyway, some UUs to report.

Let the joyous news be spread! The Vaseline gel at last is dead! (with apologies to the songwriters of the wizard of oz. this is where I break into a dance routine to 'ding dong the witch is dead').

God it was terrible. Vaseline cocoa butter vitalising gel. It just won't sink into your skin and if anything just gets greasier the longer it's on your skin. I used it a few weeks ago when we were still in bare legs weather and I couldn't bear the slippery feeling when I crossed them. So you will have guessed that I WNBA. I didn't ask to borrow And's famous poultry shears to cut the bottle open because the thought of having to use up the dregs was abhorrent!

Decleor rose essential oil face balm. WIBA? No. It was a waxy balm you had to melt in your hand before slapping it on your face. I used it as a night cream. Considering that it is made with some quite fancy essential oils and no petroleum stuff it smelled surprisingly industrial, but its main weakness is that it doesn't do anything that bio oil doesn't do better, and cheaper.

Looking forward to using up a few more splutterers soon.

Also some ins. I was in Aldi this week because I'd had a tip off that they had some good running gear in (which they did). Whilst there I decided to buy some of the Lacura stuff everyone goes on about. I know that I'm trying to cut down but the red mist got me. I bought two of their moisturisers to try (a mineral one and a shimmering day cream) and I'm impressed.

    Have a nice weekend everybody.

    Two UU:

A superdrug simple-type face wash- WNBA as I actually find these really drying! I'm now finishing of a wilkinsons skin wisdom one (in my gym bag) and a Body Shop Passionfruit one in the bathroom. The wilkinsons one is a splutterer though!

Original Source Lemon and Tea Tree shower gel- the OH loves this stuff so I have another bottle in the drawer for him. I got some cheapy versions from boots for him to test in there as well. He has now decanted the Thai Spa bubble bath into the empty bottle. it smells of coconut. BLEUGH!

Hope everyone is spiffing and congrats to Lady M and Red!
