Right now I have Acer Aspire 1640 which I bought near 7 years ago. I think its about time for me to get a new one. Can someone recommand me a good bargain or a good place to buy laptop from?
I'm look for something smaller than 14". Ideally 13". I looked on gumtree and saw some good deals but majority of them are second hand and doesn't come with a warrenty.
Can anyone help?

The smaller screen laptops tend to be more expensive than similar specs with a large screen.
Any of these should do the job, and ebuyer is regarded as reliable:

Well i wouldnt use gumtree for an expensive purchase, theres a thread on the forums where the OP bought a laptop and once home they turned it on and it doesnt work but they cant get a refund due to buyer beware.0

Pc world/ Currys have an Ebay shop showing Advent 13.3 laptops at good money, new and refurbished.
The only thing that concerns me is they are advent.

The search facility on the site is a bit cranky on my Mac.
So this link might be to a 13" refurb HP for £290:

I wouldn't recommend Advent. My experience in working in IT Retail has seen a hell of a lot of Advents come in for repair..
I'd recommend the Dell Vostro V131, i've got the V130 (earlier model), and despite a not very good battery, its a cracking portable laptop.0
