You can get a set of 4 glasses from Asda's Smart Price range for 79p.....which isn't bad!

Asda, Morrisons and Sainsburys all do a set of 4 for 88/89p
Just off the border of your waking mind, there lies another time ....

tesco has some cheap ones too. i wouldn't touch those from a pub, hundreds of people drank from it, psychologically i would not mind to use it when i am out but not everyday at home and knowing they are not that hygiene. um.. just a thought, would it be more hygiene to drink from bottle directly and discard afterwards?

Nooooooo, don't leave the house at all. You might get germs on you

    Hello!
If you are on Suffolk/Essex borders, I happen to have a few going spare. (brought a job lot off ebay - 14 boxes, over 100 glasses for less than a £5 - BARGAIN)
PM me if interested, otherwise I'll be taking the ones I don't need to the bootsale, and hopefully sell them making mine freebies!

In some pubs they get rid of old branded stock when new stock comes in so ask your local friendly pub owner. The other way is to wait till a brewery rep turns up at the pub and express your undying love for the product and mentioning that you need a couple of branded glasses to properly enjoy your takeout

When the bottles have probably been stored in a warehouse or cellar with rats running over them? It is not hygenic to drink from bottles. You should use a glass.

Ive just broken another dam glass

Obviously you get it from the Pub!!

You do as I do when I needed new glasses.

    You ask the Landlord (politely)
" What do you do when someone accidently dropped the glasses and they break?"
They will always say that it happens or words to that effect.

Now here is the tricky part. You tell him that if that is the case then would he mind if you could take a couple of them and he pretended that they broke.

I have received over 2 dozen glasses that way from several pubs I've frequented.

I even say that I've got all of them except (what ever brand I want).

They will like your boldness and give you the glasses.
This way you don't steal them yet you get them free.

Don't forget to let me know how you got on.

Try a walk near your local on a Saturday or Sunday morning. It works for me, people leaving pubs often have a glass in their hand and put it down on walls or floor on their way home. If you can get past the cleanliness issue you will soon get stocked up.

As someone said above, a quick wash with hot soapy water gets rid of any possible nasties. I carry a plastic bag for that reason so I dont have to touch the glass when i pick it up.
