I still maintain that your earlier statement that a judge would reject an otherwise valid credit hire claim on the grounds ..

No, what I said that the judge would compare hire rates, read it again.

Might have been what you meant, but in post #5 you quoted my question......

......I don't understand why you are comparing their hire rates with what you could get for a smaller car? why not compare their hire rates with bus fares? or shoe leather?.....

credit hire companys force up insurance premiums no matter what, they are only in it for their own greed. I really dont blame the op.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

If third party insurers were more proactive in assisting the innocent victims of their policy holders negligence then credit hire would disappear overnight.

A lot of companies are... Your own Insurer will tell you not to speak to anyone representing the third party and to only deal through their 'approved' representatives and list a set of benefits. I've worked in that game for a while and even with the best intentions it's hard to get a third party to agree to use your services when credit hire companies threaten you with costs and scare you into staying with them.

yep, but if the at fault company made an immediate offer of a free equivalent car then surely the credit hire cost premium wouldn't be recoverable?
