I do a 4-weekly planner & try to batch cook as much as possible but have fell behind the last few months! I use an excel sheet I got from on MSE, you have to add your own recipes, which takes time but well worth it, you hit a button & it creates your weekly shopping list! I do four weekly sheets & then do my monthly shop online, I freeze bread, milk etc so only thing I have to shop for is fruit/veg/salad. Let me know if you want a copy.

Could I have a copy too please?

if you put monthly crock recipes into google there are alot of american blogs, where prep is done in one day and a month of meals frozen. there was another i was reading ( and cant see link at the mo) where she shopped only monthly, so salads and fresh fruit for first week, then rest of month dried and stewed/ frozen friut and vegges.

If its any help in y large diary which has my whole life init, I have worked out a fortnightly menu plan with all our favourites which alternate each week.

I buy chicken breast from makro as well as bacon, it's so much more cheaper as well as sausages and check anything that's reduced whilst I'm there.

I then do a weekly list and my budget is £50 a week, if their is anything left over it goes into the savings pot.

We are 2 adults 1 5 year old boy and 1 7 month old boy.
Both kids eat what we eat mostly but 7 month old I mush his up a bit with a fork not buying baby food anymore.
