This stuff forms a coating over the wart - and is prob doing the same on your carpet. I would take a disposable razor (the single blade one) and gently shave the area. if it looks a bit thin after, use a wire suade brush to fluff up the pile a bit.0

Thanks for all suggestions - the razor blade did the trick
. Only a very small pale patch left where I had rubbed it into the carpet - should have just left it to set rather than trying to clean it up!

Can you get hold of a felt pen the same colour as the carpet? I got left with pale stains on my carpet and found I could touch up the spots with felt pen until they were unnoticeable. had to redo it when I cleaned the carpet, but that wasnt a problem.0
