So she does! I hadn't spotted that
stclair, the lady dealing with my query is called Margaret, she has said she'll get back to me with some info in a few days.
Well if you have no joy from Margaret I would recommend you write with your concerns to the following address:
Data Protection Manager
Royal Bank of Scotland
Retail Regulatory Risk
2nd Floor
Business House B
Gogarburn
P.O.Box 1000
Edinburgh
EH12 1HQ

wait a second - should i be watching it then?! i've already been told i'm worrying about data for no reason, both on here and at the bank - is it safe viewing for me to watch? *grin*
edit:
Just finished watching your video recommendation, stclair. Holy hell. That's some scary viewing.
The problem is, that even though the journalist's documentary made the point about that.. well.. you can't really escape this information collection if you want to participate in society... what hope of retaining power over your data is there when I ask an innocuous comment when closing a bank account, and I'm treated akin to a lepar for daring to confirm they'd delete optional data about me...?
And worse - when I post on MSE, where I've been a user for years (ignore this login)... some of the posters, seemingly so much more consumer smart than your average Joe.. if even most of them can't see the point in my request to the bank..? We're walking right into the type of society that the documentary is a forewarning against.0 -
