Shareholder - Being fully involved

So after "playing" with fantasy portfolios I've finally been able to put my money where my mouth is, and this afternoon I became a shareholder in 5 different, diverse companies. My question is more an admin one as I want to be fully infomed and involved:
1. Where can I find out what, if any, perks shareholders of a given company are entitled to?
2. As my holdings are in a nominee account (with Hoodless Brennan) how do I get to hear about attending AGM's etc?
Thanks guys

generally you do not receive shareholder perks on shares held in a nominee account unless they (i.e. hoodless brennan) specifically transfer those perks to you
have you checked that hb pass on the perks?0 -
You can find out about shareholder perks here. But if your shares are held in a nominee account you normally won't be eligible for them ( though there are some exceptions ). This is also currently true of shareholder rights, such as the right to attend AGMs, depending on the broker, though there are new laws going through this year - story here.0

1. Try looking at this list - though some companies exclude nominee account holders from any perks that they may offer
2. Have a look at the investors section of the company's website - they nomally hold AGM's at around the same time each year. The company may also offer the option to send email alerts when they update their website..
If you are interested in going to an AGM, you may need a letter from Hoodless Brennan confirming you own the shares.
