Access hotmail email by account holder only on Windows Live Mail?

Please bear with me, I'm a non techie.
I access my hotmail email through Windows Live Mail (what used to be Outlook Express), and would prefer to keep it like this rather than logging onto hotmail.com to access my emails. As my Windows Live Mail is set up at present, when I open Windows Live Mail, my two hotmail email accounts are listed and OH has a couple as well and all accounts are accessible for all to see. Is there a way for these accounts to be accessed only by the account holder instead of all? (I realise if I deleted them from Windows Live, I could access them via hotmail.com instead, but it's more convenient for me to use Windows Live Mail). No skulduggery intended!
Edit: Just had a look in Windows Live Mail "Accounts". Would it just be a case of going into Accounts, selecting the account I wanted then/Properties/Server, then unticking "remember password"?

not exactly, doing that would prevent new emails being collected and displayed until the password was entered, but the old emails would still be there and be able to be displayed.
to only way you could do it so the other person cannot read the emails at all is to have 2 user accounts on the computer, therefore you log into your account and have your stiff and he logs into his and has all his stuff.
or you could have 2 email programs on one user account and (eg live mail and thunderbird) and each of you just use one.0 -

Just so I understand the first bit (don't know how to set up the other suggestions), if for future emails not being accessed (but old ones still being viewable by all), what I mentioned in my first post would work on that basis?

but when you collect the 'new' emails they then become 'old' emails so would then be able to be read by anyone.
so only emails that have not yet been collected would not be able to be read, once they are collected anyone who opens live mail can read them.0 -

As a matter of interest, if I want to go down this route, if it's not too complicated to explain in a post, how would I do this option, please?0 -
I don't use Windows Live Mail so can't help you with that software but I do recommend downloading Mozilla Thunderbird. That way you can separate your accounts from the OH and have them password protected.0

I'm afraid I wouldn't have a clue how to set it up, I can just about use Windows Live Mail.
