to be honest i feel in most instances touch screen PC's are a bit of a gimmic, mainly because a PC is designed to work best with a mouse and keyboard and is not portable so you lose most of the advantages of a touch screen interface, not onyl that but most of the time you keep the screen a distance back from you and usualy at eye height to make it easier to use, which then makes touching the screen less comfortable.

so in my honest opinion i would recommend spending your money on a better (because you are not paying a price premium for the touch screen) overall computer and monitor
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Its mainly for my son, he suffers with Autism.

So the benefit of him having touch screen functionality will be appealing to him.
  • Would a tablet/iPad not be more comfortable to use in that case?

We already have the iPad, so want something that will be functional as he gets older. He is 3 at the moment.

well I would consider a touch screen display with a normal PC
what you buy now will be outdated in no time(In PC terms) with these all in one units
separating the 2 makes easier upgrades

this is a quick example,I havent researched prices/spec/reviews!

What do you mean by 'functional'? My iPad still functions, and I'm quite a bit older than 3...

If you mean something he can do spreadsheets, word processing on, there is no point buying it now, it will belong in a museum by the time he needs to do stuff like that.
