Wrong meter reading supplied to meter reading company

I supplied my meter readings to the OVO website yesterday morning. I also read my mum's meters for her and send hers in too. However, a couple of days ago, i got a card through the door from one of those contracted out meter readers (can't remember the name) that come round on behalf of the energy companies, and I think i've mistakenly entered my mum's electricity reading on their website instead of mine. Obviously it'll be way off what the proper reading should be, but there's no validation when entering the numbers.

What will happen? Will my reading direct to OVO take precedence over the 3rd party one?

Meter readings that don't fit the established pattern are "Rejected" by the Accounts Computer, which then works on an Estimated reading that it thinks does fit the pattern.

As you are not sure if you made a swap-over error when entering the online readings, your best bet is to phone OVO a.s.a.p and ask what they have

I know the reading I inputted to the OVO website was 100% correct, it was the reading I sent to Lowri Beck a day later that was transposed. The Lowri Beck reading will be miles out, and will stick out like a sore thumb as being incorrect based on my usage pattern. I'll ring OVO as suggested.

Edit : OVO still have the correct readings for me :-)
