Please help
I have received a bill from working tax credits as they have overpaid me. Do I have to pay them back? Surely it's their mistake?
Thank you

unless you can prove it was their error and that you had no way of knowing that there was an error on your claim, then yes you will have to pay it back.
were all the details of your award notices correct? did they show the information as you gave it to them?
if you disagree with their decision you can always appeal it, but the first thing you need to do is ask for a breakdown of the alleged overpayment so you can see how/when it occurred.0
