Buying a new car
Options
Please help!! I've never purchased a new car before but have just put down a £100 deposit on a car.
The dealer has asked for the remaining balance to be paid by the end of this week. However, I am uncomfortable with this as I cannot pick the car up until next week as it had private reg plates.
Is this normal practice or should I ring the dealer to say I will not pay until I pick up the car?
The dealer is well known nationwide (evans halshaw) so I think they are generally ok?
Thanks in advance for you help.

You don't part with your money until your collect, if they still want the sale they will wait.0

I presume they will want cleared funds before they will let you drive away so don't expect to go in with a cheque.0

It's most likely due to being the end of the month and salesman wants to get it included in this months figures to reach target and earn bonus etc.
If you don't feel comfortable just say you can't get in till next week. It's not just about the money0
