Leaking washing machine

Can anyone help me please. My washing machine decided to leak today. Well, I say leak, what I mean is gush and flood the kitchen!!! It seemed to be leaking from the water inlet inside the machine. I want to fix it myself (read hubby) to save on costs but does anyone know the workings of the water inlet of a washing machine and is it DIY fixable? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks

which is why you remove the 13 amp plug from the socket first.

heres how to replace the inlet valve if needed.
are you sure its that part at fault?
could be just a washer/seal or a burst pipe.
simple enough job.Get some gorm.0 -
Had a look and it is the inlet valve that's gone and yes, I did unplug the machine first - Thank you for your reply.0
