units to kwh and switching ?
Hello .
with a bit of reading and help from here i saved some money last year .
left b gas standard price for eon save online 3. This contract terminates in 31st of october .
i got the total consumation for these eleven months and are as below
2192 units for electricity 192 units per month
1467 units for gas 133 units per month
not sure if its a average for a 3 bed semi detached house in london, though from january to may, i smashed my way to a big extension which involved breaking and filling 12 skips till the job got finished .
went to uswitch but its asking kwhs not units/
and dont know average per money, but i asumme around 60 quid
also best fixed one?
the eon guy was in a hurry but he mentioned eon save online 10--- roughly 900 something for a whole year but i read that this is not a fixed plan?
overall happy with their online account, and call centres when i called once in a lifetime, have been prety quick

The Switch sites don't recognise 'Gas Units' as a measure when comparing suppliers prices - You must give it to them in Kwh ( Kilowatt hours ), I unit on an Electic meter is a Kwh
For Gas, the number of Kwh per unit depends on your type of Gas meter
Look at your meter, if it marked m3 on the front it is a METRIC meter and delivers appx. 11.2 Kwh of Gas for each meter unit - If it's marked ft3 it is an IMPERIAL meter which delivers appx 31.5Kwh per unit.
So for Metric your 1467 Gas units converts to 16,430 Kwh, and the Imperial to 46,210.0 -
THANK YOU mate will give it a try0

right, something wrong here
i did put yearly use electricity 2200 kwh
and gass 17000 kwh as is metric meter
it brings my last years usage some 2200 pounds roughly when i know i have spend no more than 900 quid. and then brings scottish power the cheapest with 2000 something .
some thing wrong with my usage0 -

Are you sure? Just put those figures into compare the market with online saver 3 and it came up with the current annual bill as £912.0 -
Good day, Im hoping someone can help me, we moved house about 6 months ago, and we joined british gas for our gas and elec.
We where paying £30 each per month for the gas and elec. Now they have told us they need to put our gas up to £42 pm the elec. staying at £30pm.
The meter is a new one and has M3 on the front, we use about 50 to 60 uints per month for cooking and hot water, so £42pm I think is a bit high.
Can someone tell me, Thank You.0 -
You would be better starting your own thread, however if you have gas central heating then £42 for gas is about right, for a smallish property. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

60 metric gas units are around 664 Kwh, @around 5p / Kwh that would cost about £33.
Do they know what you use gas for?
Are you on the cheapest tarrif? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
i feel like i have been hacked off
we used to have all sort of jokes when i was in the army regarding new soldier;)0 -
I did tell the other guy they should have started their own thread.
Hope you have a handle on your costs now. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
