Joint/Shared bank account, can they write a cheque to Either ME or HER?

If you want to have a bank account or joint savings account.

Me + my sister, and somebody wants to send you a cheque, which name do they send it too? to me? or to her?

or they can send it to both names? - have 2 options?

You can chose who's address correspondence is sent to.

Internet banking is the way for both of you to be able to check the accounts from different locations.

You would both need to prove your own identities and your own addresses. If you are at different addresses, you will require separate documents.

It's not a requirement, however bear in mind that a joint account will mean you are financially connected by the credit reference agencies, and any nasties on your or their credit file will affect both of your credit histories.
