wolf steam mop.

Hi all bit of a !!!!!! off post just to make me feel better.OH was looking to buy a steam mop as she saw the ads and thought "that is just what I need" (again) So looked on ebay and saw a wolf steam mop advertised by a large company and she thought that will do.Now I know about wolf making drills and sanders and they have an excellent name so I told her to send off for it.The cost was £29.99 (yes it seemed too cheap) but because of where we live it also cost £18 postage!!.Anyway it arrived a few days after and soon as it was opened I knew it was a mistake,a more cheaper looking thing you have never seen.It looked for all the world like a childs toy with a very thin plastic body and an even thinner plastic water tank.So I put it together and as per instructions put on the tank with water in and turned it on.After a few minutes a small whisper of steam came out of it (less than you see on a cup of tea) and wife tried it on the kitchen floor. After less than a minute the steam stopped and cold water dribbled onto the floor and despite trying various ways, emptying the water tank, letting the unit dry out then trying again it still refused to make steam instead dribbling cold water over the floor like a guilty puppy. Finally losing patience I looked at the "warranty" which is 12 months BUT I would have to send it back postage paid (£18 pounds) and presumably pay postage for another to be sent.so it now rests in the bin.I think the moral of this story is you get what you pay for,in this case we bought cheap and thats exactly what we got.:(

Take it out of the bin and contact the seller.
If it's faulty then the seller is legally obliged to pay for getting it returned to them (although they may well try to get out of this). Ignore the warranty blurb as the Sale of goods act gives you far more rights.
If they won't pay for the return and you paid for the mop with a credit or debit card, contact your card issuer and ask them about doing a chargeback for the transaction.
You could also open an ebay dispute and they sometimes give "no fault" courtesy refunds in which case you will be refunded and won't have to pay to return the mop.0 -
Lol nearly £50 for a mop.0

A repeat experience here! Mine leaked all over the place even after being sent a replacement water tank. Did you get another steam mop, if so which one and is it any good.0

Yes I got an ultra 3 in 1 steam mop off ebay auction for £55. The other one I binned as it would have cost me almost as much to send back. This new one is (according to she who must be obeyed) the business. It looks and feels very professional with everything put together like a vw car and it really works.0
